[EN] Rodrigo Guijarro Lasheras is currently Assistant Professor of Literary Theory and Comparative Literature at the Universidad de Oviedo (Spain). He holds a PhD in Literary Studies (Extraordinary Doctorate Award at Universidad Complutense de Madrid), and a Degree in Music (Classical Double-Bass Performance). He has been a Visiting Researcher at the University of California, Berkeley (2017), the University of Cambridge (2018), and the University of Oxford (2021-2022).

He is the author of four monographs, and his articles have appeared in renowned journals in Spain, United States, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Poland, Germany, Switzerland, and Chile. After publishing his first monograph in 2015, his critical edition of Monsieur Venus, by Rachilde (KRK, 2016) was named the book of the week and considered among the most important of the semester by El País. He usually translates books related to his interests from English and French into Spanish for publishing houses such as Cátedra or Tecnos.

He currently leads a research project on music and literature relatonships funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation (2023-2026). It continues a line started with a previous individual project  (2021-2023) funded by one of the prestigious Leonardo Fellowships granted by the BBVA Foundation.

As a musician, he has been a member of the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, European Youth Orchestra and the Joven Orquesta Nacional de España, performing in some of the most important European halls and festivals (Vienna, Salzburg, London Proms…). He has also been an Academist in the Orquesta Nacional de España and a guest player in many other Spanish orchestras (OSPA, OST, OSM).
